The motif of this work is drying laundries and the shooting take place in the housing complex and the apartment.
The film is constructed with still images and the sound is edited from environment sounds of the place.
In Japan, the laundries are usually dried in the balcony, and by watching the change of laundries in balcony, the characteristic of people who live in the apartment or housing complex can be brought out. And not only individual characteristics of people who live in, but the group as one whole apartment or housing complex can be also brought out. In this series of work “looking at Windows,” the shooting took place in couple of places, and each place had sown its different characteristic.
Looking at the daily work of drying laundries everyday, the quiet rhythm of lives can be felt through this work.
